Communicate environmental information

bio expertise

Communiquer l'information environnementale

BIO Intelligence Service has developed extensive expertise in a number of areas, such as the measure of environmental impacts, the evaluation of public environmental policies and support for companies and authorities in the implementation of environmental approaches.

This experience provides us with vision, expertise and a unique authority to respond to the many challenges relating to environmental communication, and to support our clients from both the public and private sector in enhancing their sustainable development approach.

Managing stakeholder networks

BIO mobilises stakeholders and manages stakeholder networks.

  • In France: in particular on themes relating to waste prevention and processing,
  • In Europe: on themes such as environmental communication or the sharing of environmental best practices between SMEs.

Raising awareness in key players

At European level, BIO is mandated by the European Commission to promote its environmental programmes, such as the EMAS environmental management system, environmentally-responsible public purchasing and the European Ecolabel.

Product communication

BIO specialises in environmental communication about products and services. Thanks to its expertise in Life Cycle Assessment, BIO was able to perform the first eco-profile in France, of “Typhon” paints in 2002; and to launch the first carbon labelling programme for fast-moving consumer goods, for Casino in 2007. It also supported the first programme of multi-criteria environmental labelling of mobile phones, for Orange in 2008.

Training

BIO carries out a number of training courses for companies, administrations, schools and universities, on a variety of environmental themes including sustainable development, eco-design, environmental labelling, environmentally responsible purchasing, responsible consumption, quantification methods, etc.

bio vision

An intuition was behind the creation of BIO Intelligence Service more than 20 years ago; a belief that the appreciation of environmental issues would never be the same again, that there would be a shift from an emotive, passion-filled, militant voice to a responsible, rational and objective approach, based on an in-depth understanding of the issues.

To draw up a set of arguments, define a position or build a communications strategy that seeks to raise the awareness of people or alert the consumer, BIO provides objective, justified and, if possible, quantified answers and built the adhesion of stakeholders.

In these actions, BIO closely links the engineer with the communicator because without effective communication, technical expertise is destined to be ineffective and misunderstood. And conversely, without technical expertise, communication has neither aim nor content.

In order to guarantee the quality of messages and their credibility from an environmental perspective, BIO employs a team of professionals with dual skills in both environmental issues and marketing and communication.
