Ecodesign

Applying an ecodesign approach means:

  • Including environmental considerations in product or service development policies, by creating a competitive advantage based on an unquestionable added value that can be easily quantified and qualified,
  • Enlisting the participation of everyone involved in the development of new products, to improve its environmental performance and to create a new Unique Selling Point that can be highlighted for marketing purposes.

BIO helps companies to integrate an ecodesign approach in a number of ways, by:

  • Running awareness-raising sessions and training on ecodesign principles,
  • Hosting eco-creativity sessions,
  • Assisting with the search for areas of improvement during the design phase or during revamping of the existing range of products or services,
  • Developing customised ecodesign tools,
  • Leading research and development projects,
  • Promoting the approach.
