EECN is an umbrella organisation that incorporates multiple environmental communication networks, notably GSN – Green Spider Network. GSN is comprised of communication officers from environmental ministries and agencies throughout the EU.
BIO Intelligence Service has been handling the EECN Secretariat since 2008, through the maintenance of everyday management tasks and also through the promotion of GSN. This project requires communication and project management skills, in combination with an excellent knowledge of environmental issues.
The Secretariat’s assignments include:
Design of communication tools
- Bi-monthly newsletter on environmental communication-related topics (EC campaigns, communication towards specific audiences, academic research, etc.)
- Annual brochure presenting the network
Internal animation of the network
- Identification and diffusion of best practices
- Diffusion of relevant resources and information
- Development of a network strategy and suggesting potential network activities
- Assistance in the organisation of the meetings between network members
Representation of the network
- Presentation during European events (eg. Green Week)
- Collaboration with other networks (ENCA) and with the European Commission
Maintenance of EECN and GSN websites
